Solve The Mystery About Pancreatic Cancer Causes

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most challenging cancers. Progression is often toward the later stages before it is diagnosed. With continued research it is hopeful that early detection will be possible. When there is such a cancer that provides few clues it is often easier to approach the causes of the disease. Pancreatic cancer causes are best known as risk factors for pancreatic cancer. It is known that certain DNA factors related to parents can affect whether or not a person can be at risk of getting pancreatic cancer. What is further known and more important is that when only one parent has a good gene passed on to the child and that goes bad then the chances of getting pancreatic cancer increase.

Behavior is another factor that influences pancreatic cancer. Smoking cigarettes and other matter can greatly affect changes in the DNA. When this change turns to cancer it can affect the pancreas or any other area of the body. In other cases the DNA, in all of it's perfection, may become damaged and the chances for cancer increase. The bottom line is that DNA can be affected by inheritance, behavior or chance. There are other factors that are pancreatic cancer causes due to the effect on the DNA.

Pancreatic cancer is more likely to occur in people over age 60 to about age 80. Racial differences affected by socioeconomic matters and cigarette smoking can affect who gets this cancer. African American people are more inclined to get pancreatic cancer. Due to more smoking by men than women the risks of a man getting pancreatic cancer are greater. Genetic differences in certain Ashkenazi Jewish families can increase the chances of pancreatic cancer. If pancreatitis is chronic this increases the chance of pancreatic cancer.

A diagnosis of adult onset diabetes may mean greater risk of pancreatic cancer. Diabetes may also be a symptom of pancreatic cancer. Being overweight increases the chance of getting this cancer. High fat, cholesterol rich, fried foods can increase the chance of pancreatic cancer. Certain gene mutations can also be one of many pancreatic cancer causes. Overall, a healthy, balanced diet with a lot of fruits and vegetables along with folic acid can be preventative as well as weight loss and quitting smoking. If risk factors sound high risk then it may be a good time to make changes. The body has a way of strengthening when it is treated with care.
